Each Song Tells A Story
What music drives you in your search? Is it the mellow ballad of musicians like John Denver or Gordon Lightfoot, or is it the harder-hitting tunes of Van Halen, Metallica, or Soundgarden? Perhaps it's a mix of German and other European bands? Whatever satisfies your musical palate, allow me to introduce you to the tunes I listen to when I write.
Sometimes, you need a hard-hitting reminder of who you are, of the fire that pushes you through every wall you hit. This page isn't just music—it's motivation, raw and undiluted. This is where power and purpose collide. From homeless and wandering aimlessly, shackled by frustration, to clawing my way up out of my own destruction—this is the music and the speeches that reshaped me into the relentless force of nature standing here today. Sugarcoat nothing. Make no excuses. You either want it, or you don’t.
Look, you have two choices: you can stand there feeling sorry for yourself, blaming every setback on someone else, or you can pick up the pieces and build something so damn powerful that nothing can tear it down. Life’s not going to wait for you to feel ready, and neither will the people who get where they’re going. Every day you waste is another day you lose, so stop looking for an apology that isn’t coming and start creating something you’ll never have to apologize for.
Growing up, there were so many things I wasn’t given, opportunities I could’ve used but was denied. My father’s refusals could have broken me, but instead, I took what I had, and I made it better. Even when I was young and being laughed at, bullied, and overlooked, I found ways to push myself forward. I didn’t ask for pity—I asked for a shot.
But life wasn’t a straight path. I ran away, drifted, and spent over a decade searching for excuses and a purpose, letting myself fall further. Yet here I am, in my 50s, standing strong, rising up once again, and building castles out of the ruins left behind in my past. There are no more excuses, no pity parties, no looking back and no backing down.
What you see here on this website? It’s just a small part of the whole journey, a mere glimpse of the bigger picture. I am rising from the ashes like the phoenix, mythological and unstoppable, driven by a force I’ve forged through every trial, every setback, and every climb. I will continue to rise, no matter what, and I invite you to do the same. The music, the words, the struggle—let it drive you. And remember, this is just the beginning.
I did not get here alone. Many of my mentors have long since passed on, but their guidance lives on in every step I take. Those who remain still cheer me on, calling out the areas where I can grow and reminding me there’s always a way forward—often a better one, if I’m willing to see it.
Let me spell it out for you: excuses are just like weeds—they pop up everywhere, take no effort to grow, and serve no purpose but to choke the life out of anything good around them. Life doesn’t care about your excuses. If you’ve got a reason why you “can’t,” congratulations—you’ve just found an excuse. And here’s the kicker: while you’re busy building monuments to what’s holding you back, there are people out there using those same setbacks as a ladder. So you can either keep rehearsing your reasons, or you can get to work and let life see you show up. Simple as that.
Making a name for yourself in this world doesn’t mean trampling over everyone in your path. Real strength isn’t about crushing others beneath your feet; it’s about standing tall enough to reach down and lift others up. Motivate yourself fiercely, but don’t mistake that for the right to make others your stepping stones. Stand alone when you have to, and stand together when you can. Push your fellow human to rise, to learn from their own setbacks, to face their own hard truths—just as you’d want room to grow yourself. Be a force that lifts, not one that tears down. That’s how you build a legacy worth standing on.
