Scully: (with a sigh) Mulder, you're twisting centuries of theological study into a script for a bad science fiction movie.
Mulder: (serious now) Or maybe the Bible's been misinterpreted. What if the truth’s been distorted by centuries of denominational spin? Ezekiel’s wheels, the parting of the Red Sea—these are events that defy explanation, Scully. What if they weren’t miracles, but something else? Something... unexplained?
Scully: (leaning back in her chair) I’ll give you this much. Some interpretations of these stories do feel more like mythology than doctrine. But just because we don’t understand something doesn’t mean it’s alien in origin. Sometimes, Mulder, faith is about accepting mystery.
Mulder: (smirking) And sometimes, Scully, it’s about questioning it. Let’s face it. If the truth is out there, the Bible’s got its fair share of X-files to crack open.
